This research started with a PhD project within the NAWI-Graz cooperation between TU Graz and KFU Graz. Initial subject of the research were "lamplighter random walks", that is, a class of Markov processes which generate a sequence of random configurations. Specifically, the Poisson boundary of space homogeneous lamplighter walks and exact asymptotics for return probabilities are studied. Subsequently, other models of random and also non-random configurations on infinite graphs were also included in this research, such as internal diffusion limited aggregation, dvisible sandpile and rotor router
