Description
The testing and simulation activities in P4.2 ReMET - Revolutionary measurement and testing technologies for hydrogen applications of Area 4 (of the COMET HyCentA) are the essential basis for the progress of research objectives within Areas 1 - 3 as well as the strong research-based interactions result in synergies, result in new methodological and novel technological testing approaches. Considerations of circularity and recycling aspects are mandatory and have yet not been in the focus of research in a comprehensive matter in the field of hydrogen applications.
The overall objective of the project is the development of measurement, testing and diagnostic tools as well as to support all research topics in Area 1 to 3 with suitable simulation, test and certification processes. This includes:
• Novel fuel cell and electrolysis test/measurement equipment as well as method development for degradation, state of health and accelerated stress test (AST)
• Efficient and cost-effective measurement tools and systems for various real life physical quantities for application in hydrogen systems and plants
• Comprehensive knowledge on material suitability and material compatibility in combination with hydrogen applications as well as H2 permeability and solubility processes and their measurements
• Multi-physical simulation tool chain development as well as model coupling within the projects of Area 4 and in cooperation with Areas 1-3
• Implementation of tools and methods to support certification processes
