Safety Aspects of Tunnel Ventilation

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The design of tunnel ventilation systems for street tunnels depend on the fresh air demand for the dilution of traffic emissions. Due to recent large accidents the interest in the performance of the ventilation during fire situations is growing. New adjustable dampers allow new concepts for the operation of the ventilation system. One important way to find new concepts is the 1-d simulation of the air flow in the tunnels.
