Project Details

Description

Contactless communication technology has become a well-established part of various applications and is already considered a commodity in many areas, for example in electronic ticketing, access control to cars and ski lifts, secure passports and contactless payment. It is changing the way we live and work, how we do business and how we use products and services. The world stands on the brink of a new ubiquitous computing and communication era referred to as the Internet of Things. Contactless communication technologies including RFID and NFC will play a paramount role and enable yet unthought-of applications. The Internet of Things will finally lead to a Connected World in which real world objects are connected among themselves and the Internet. SeCoS aims at securing and strengthening the future competitiveness of the Austrian semiconductor industry. Under the lead of JOANNEUM RESEARCH SeCoS brings together three internationally leading scientific groups and five globally acting industrial partners.
