SECRET - interactive - Search of Critical Events in Videoarchives SEARCH - interactive

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Interactivity is the keyword for effective involvement of end users and their cognitive knowledge for video archive search.. Comparing the increasing number of video footage for observation on one hand and the disappointing results in the 100%-online-detection-scenario on the other hand, a new paradigm in video searching is needed. Otherwise time consuming search and investigation work with demotivating effects to end users without increasing substantially the security levels is the result. A generic approach to this problem has been worked out in the project SECRET I. Now, this approach for a fast video archive search tool should be validated with the extension of a interactive man-machine-interface and integration of SoA object detection (superresolution) algorithms in two end user scenarios: ÖBB (Austrian Railway Administration) and BM.I (ministry of internal affairs).
