This project will investigate and advance two different approaches, particularly for automated vehicles featuring a 5R1C sensor setups: model-based multi-object tracking and occupancy grid mapping. Starting from the existing academic and industrial baseline, the project will significantly improve the state-of-art for both approaches by fulfilling certain pre-defined, challenging metrics and key performance indicators for performance, robustness and reliability.
