Project Details

For the treatment of single line earth failures in high voltage distribution networks the compensation method (Petersen coil) is the most widely spread fault recovery method in the German speaking parts of Europe. The advantages of this method can mainly be found in conjunction with overhead high voltage networks. New circumstances such as an increasing number of underground high voltage networks, dissatisfaction with some characteristics of the Petersen coil method and the increasing cost awareness of a free electricity market are the main reasons for the growing interest in the low resistance grounding method of high voltage transformers as an alternative. The applicability of this method in theory and mainly in practice is the content of this project. not assigned GG: EVU not assigned KP: EVU
