SUS2 - Suspension Assembly 2.0

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

In a joint project, the assembly of fork tubes and suspension struts located there is to be analysed and redesigned. The analysis and redesign of the assembly area is to be supported by a simulation model. This model is created using the "Tecnomatix Plant Simulation" software. To this end, a detailed as-is analysis of the current assembly area (suspension strut & fork leg) is first carried out in order to create a database for the subsequent conceptual design and creation of the event-orientated simulation model. The data collected will then be used to develop various solution concepts for the assembly area. The simulation model created in parallel is used to investigate the dynamic behaviour of the assembly area. Finally, several different solution variants including rough layouts are defined and compared with the current actual state on the basis of quantitative and qualitative characteristics. In addition, the simulation model created is used to generate knowledge about the temporal system behaviour of the assembly system.
