Synchronization in Parallel and Distributed Systems

Over the decades people are more and more interested in modeling a physical real situation into a simulation model. Due to the increasing complexity and recommendations the speed of simulation is getting a bottleneck. Parallel distributed simulation is one solution to get a better performance. One main part of the distributed simulation is the synchronisation protocol. Optimistic synchronisation algorithms cause rollback strategies, which can reduce the global Speedup. Conservative synchronisation algorithms can block the simulation and end up in a deadlock situation.
