Description

The aim of this project is to determine an intrinsic dynamic forming limit for sheet metal forming. This forming limit will improve the quality of material failure prediction of FE-simulations of drawing operations. The today´s commonly used strongly strain path dependent forming limit diagram (FLD) will be substituted by a strain-path independent stress based failure criterion. This failure criterion will be used as a stop test in numeric simulations by means of the finite element method. By the use of this criterion a numerical optimization of multi-step sheet metal forming processes should become more feasible
