Description

The old Lhakhang of Saspotse offers the most extraordinary "collection" of carved wooden sculptures in Ladakh. The majority of the 40 sculptures are Buddha images, whilst a few are carved depictions of chortens. Artistic and art historical value of the sculptures will be also urgent need for appropriate preservation and researching the collction. Main goal be will to design and built a small museum for the collection in Sasposte.
