Project Details
Description
This research project deals with the simulation and experimental investigation of mobile air conditioning systems with the natural refrigerant R744.
One of the main goals is the development of a Modelica based simulation model using the AirConditioning Library from Modelon and the simulation environment Dymola. To verify the models experimental data will be used.
The first step is to develop a R744 cycle which is used as basis cycle for the further analyses. This system is changed during the project in different ways to analyse the system performance. Some issues are the variation of refrigerant charge, heat exchangers and expansion valves. The system behaviour and the main system parameters like stability, efficiency, capacity and temperature distribution of the air at the evaporator outlet will be analyzed.
Another step will be an optimisation of the system efficiency by means of a parameter variation study which will be based on the developed simulation models.
Finally a co-simulation will be used to analyze the interaction between the engine cooling cycle and the refrigerant cycle.
