Wetting Features of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH)

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) are of special interest as pollutants in the atmosphere and soil. But they are also valuable precursers for carbon materials. The preferential orientation of nanoscale liquid crystals at the interface towards various solid surfaces and the wetting features of PAH are investigated optically. The nature of the governing interaction mechanisms can be derived and described theoretically.
