Abstract

This paper presents a novel and accurate methodology for extracting the coupling matrix of lossy microwave Filtennas from experimentally measured scattering parameters. Filtennas, renowned for their hybrid integration of filter and antenna functionalities, necessitates precisely determining the coupling matrix to achieve optimal design and performance. The proposed method leverages the Simulated Annealing algorithm to effectively fit the extracted Filtenna parameters to the measured ones. Two diverse Filtenna characterized by distinct degrees and symmetric radiation nulls are employed to demonstrate the efficiency of the approach. This research significantly advances Filtenna design and optimization, facilitating improved application performance.
