Abstract

The applications of fiber reinforced concrete are currently still limited. The limitation depends on the high scattering in the post cracking tensile behaviour of fiber reinforced concrete. The applications of fiber reinforced concrete currently range from foundation slabs, precast concrete members to tunneling. The high scattering of the material properties of fiber reinforced concrete make it difficult to use it for elements with considerable stresses.
To reduce this scattering, it is necessary to investigate which parameters have the biggest influence on the total scattering in the post cracking behaviour. Due to this fact the goal of this master thesis is to develop a model which enables the description of the scattering influences of each parameter.
At first, the most important basics are described. They are necessary to create the model. The model is implemented in MATLAB and gives the possibility, to quantify the influence of the scattering parameters. Furthermore, it is possible to simulate the interaction of different scattering parameters. To verify the performance of the model, the results of different computations have been compared with experimental tests carried out at Graz University of Technology.
After verification of the model, different results of the computation are shown. Therefor different parameters have been investigated. This is necessary to get the quantitative scattering amount for each parameter.
In the next step, the results of the computation are analyzed to create a mathematical correlation, based on the error propagation. This correlation is able to describe the total scattering, without using computationally intensive analysis.
Finally a summary of this master thesis and an outlook on prospective studies is given.
