Abstract

Biocatalysis – the use of enzymes as catalysts in organic chemistry – is part of
industrial biotechnology, also known as white biotechnology. Enzymes catalysis
offers excellent regio-, chemo-, and enantioselectivity and an environmentally
benign reaction profile.
