Abstract
This paper presents the design of an Archimedean Spiral Antenna (ASA) for use in an indoor localization system. The ultra wideband antenna operates in the frequency range between 3 and 7 GHz and achieves a gain higher than 2.87 dB and axial ratio lower than 3 dB with a Half Power Beamwidth of 90.5°. With the addition of a loading ring, the antenna presents a size reduction of 30% in comparison traditional Archimedean Spiral Antennas.
