Compact Filtering Power Divider with Distributed Combline Coupled-Resonators

In this communication, we present a compact single-layer filtering power divider in substrate integrated waveguide technology. The distributed combline resonators are effectively adopted to form a power divider with Chebyshev filtering response. The etched capacitive annular gaps and TEM-based combline resonators enable a miniaturized and tunable power divider design, with low-cost PCB-based fabrication. For demonstration, a fourth-degree four-way power divider operating at X-band is designed and fabricated. The simulation and experimental results are in good agreement and exhibit excellent selectivity performance alongside with a 50% size reduction.
