Abstract

Condition monitoring of cylinder liners makes it possible to avoid out-of-spec function and downtime of large engines. However, optical evaluation of the actual wear condition of the liner is currently a complex, time-consuming, destructive and costly process. The Large Engines Competence Center (LEC), the University of Innsbruck and Innio Jenbacher have therefore set themselves the goal of simplifying the evaluation of wear by applying computer vision methods
