Abstract
Complex interdependencies of conditions and specifications to be met characterize the planning process of intralogistics systems. In the planning process, a large source of existing knowledge in the form of various 3D CAD machine designs or information from PDM systems is only sparsely used. A newly developed knowledge-based
engineering methodology to be presented shows concepts for formalizing, enriching and using this existing knowledge in order to support the planning of intralogistics plants and thus increase their efficiency. The work presented is rounded off by a methodological process that evaluates the usefulness of using a KBE solution.
