Abstract

This correction pertains to the acoustic sound intensity values given in section V.C and figure 8, in the original article when it was first published online [https://doi.org/10.2514/1.J062558]. The authors noticed during the preparation of a new article that the acoustic intensity results were scaled inappropriately leading to incorrect acoustic levels. The corrected results of the intensity (figure 8) are reported hereafter (see figure 1). With these corrections, the quantities in the conclusions of the paper changed from 1.8 dB to 3.7 dB for the AWE-PO, a reduction of 16 dB is observed at θ 15° for the AWE-PO intensity results and the deviation to the DNS results changed from 0.3 dB to 1.6 dB for Lighthill’s equation. The qualitative description of the results and their conclusion, however, hold, and the corrected deviations with respect to reference data are in the range as cited. (Fig.
