The analysis of dependence of output signals from different sensors as a function of potential discharge (PD) location is presented using finite differences time domain (FDTD). By using this scheme, the cable joint pulse propagation could be analyzed numerically. FDTD proved to be a powerful tool to uncover problems in PD sensoring schemes and to optimize PD sensoring.
