Abstract

For the oxides Mon-xWxO3n-1 with x ≤ 7 the temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility as well as the diffuse reflectance spectra from the visible to the infrared spectral region has been measured. The binary oxides Mo8O23 and Mo9O26 show a transition from a quasi 1-dimensional to a 2-dimensional electrical conductivity with decreasing temperatures. A minimum of reflectivity is found for Mo9O26 at 550 nm.
