Abstract

In this paper the conventional determined coincidence factors for the determination and selection of electrical equipment (transformers, low voltage lines) are compared to a probabilistic approach. The conventional approach for different usages (office, medium-scaled industry, household and industry) according to literature and general experience is done by coincidence factors and specific surface powers. In this procedure the technical planner has always the risk of an unadapt dimensioning.

This investigation compares the conventional method to an improved method to determine the expected peak power. This probabilistic generated load profiles provide information of the excepted peak power which are based on real smart meter measurement data. The resulting coincidence factors are calculated by the peak power for households and compared by the different methods.
