Abstract
The crystallinity of graphite used as anode material in lithium-ion cells determines its electrochemical performance as electrode. A rough indicator for the structural properties of graphite is the content of its rhombohedral phase. Here we would like to present our last electrochemical results with especially prepared graphites, the influences of the rhombohedral phase respectively of the graphites crystallinity on the SEI formation behaviour in the first charging/discharging step. Different aspects of the modifications and the crystallinity of graphite are discussed.
