N2 - The planning and realization of buildings involves designing by architects, dimensioning or ensuring the stability by structural engineers and solving technical requirements concerning heat, moisture, sound and fire protection by building physicists. Therefore, the participation of different trades is required. To achieve a functional and usable building further processes are needed. Buildings must be managed and supplied with the necessary mediums like gases and liquids. Primarily this includes water, air, electricity and gas supply and is ensured by appropriate building services1 which must be integrated into the building structure. Therefore, the integration of building services has a significant influence on the design and the construction and should be considered as early as possible in the planning process in order to find a suitable solution for wood structures. Fig. 1 shows a possible schedule of an integrated planning process. It is the task of the architect to coordinate the aesthetic design, functional planning, structural design as well as building service issues in all planning processes. Integral planning has to be seen as a tool to enable a target-oriented planning process between experts from different trades in order to solve complex technical questions.
