Abstract
A novel compact gap waveguide resonator-coupled filter with negative coupling structure is presented. Gap waveguide is an interesting technology introduced for the design of microwave and mm-wave components with no need for electrical contact. It takes advantages of high quality factor, low loss, capability of integration with MMICs and multilayer structure. Gap waveguide features with folded negative coupling topology are effectively employed here to bring a high performance interconnect, miniaturized and cost effective filter. A fourth-degree Ku-band filter with two prescribed symmetric transmission zeros is designed and fabricated based on the groove gap waveguide platform to verify the validity of the method. The simulation and measurement results are in good agreement and exhibit high double-sided selectivity.
