Abstract

A series of novel arylgermanium hydrides Ar nGeH 4 –n (n = 1–3) and diaryl(chloro)germanium hydrides Ar 2Ge(Cl)H were synthesized and characterized. Systematic preparation and purification were achieved via the lithium chloride–triflic acid and the optimized Grignard route. Arylgermanium hydrides ArnGeH 4– n (Ar = 2,5-Me 2C 6H 3, n = 1–3) were characterized by 1H and 73Ge NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffractometry.
