Abstract

The large-scale infrastructure project "Railway Connection of TEN-T Corridors with the
Airport and Railway Network" prepared in Bratislava includes on its left bank section two
underground stations, the Nivy station and the Centrum station. Considering the great depth of the
stations, a track depth of 32 m (Nivy station) and 41 m (Centrum station) and limited space on the
surface, NATM tunnelling technology was chosen for their construction. Consequences of
Eurocode 7 on the design of the platform tunnels will be discussed in detail based on studies of
individual Design Approaches.
