Radial Basis Function Interpolation for Computational Aeroacoustics

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

The huge disparity of scales in low Mach number aeroacoustics and strict forward coupling of fluid-structure interaction allow well-suited hybrid simulation models using different meshes for the fluid flow, mechanical deformation, and acoustics. Since these meshes may be quite different, the fundamental requirement in hybrid computational aeroacoustics is an accurate data transfer between grids to minimize interpolation errors. In this paper, we investigate the accuracy of a fast radial basis interpolation scheme. Finally, the results of the aeroacoustic simulations are compared to the analytic solution.
