Abstract

On the basis of a case history of a pumping storage which is endangered by a slow moving landslide, the interaction of the reservoir operation and the deformation behaviour of the landslide will be discussed in this paper. Comprehensive measurements as well as theoretical investigations, which had been performed to understand the determining factors for the deformation behaviour of the landslide, will be discussed. Based on these investigation results a warn and alarm plan as part of the safety concept for the storage had been developed.
