Abstract

Potential users may not necessarily have (in-depth) knowledge of the Monte Carlo simulation method because it heavily relies on probability theory. This chapter describes its basic principles and includes worked examples that provide further explanation. These hands-on examples provide a fundamental understanding of the method to create the basis for the following chapters
