Abstract
The Internet of Things connects (often very small) computers embedded into objects, such that the state of these objects can be perceived and processed to digitalise anything from cities to buildings to waddles or rafts of penguins. This chapter summarises the underlying technical challenges and introduces some of the solutions available for applications specifically in architecture.
