Abstract
An advanced multilaminate-type constitutive model for normally consolidated clays is presented. The model, named Multilaminate Model for Clay, includes the effects of plastic anisotropy by considering the stress-strain behaviour of the soil on several so-called contact planes, on which the yield and plastic potential surfaces are defined individually. The ability of the model to represent anisotropic behaviour is demonstrated by numerical simulations of triaxial tests on Murro clay.
