Abstract

Abstract. COVID-19 has an impact on society, both globally and locally. The paper analyses the relationship between risk management and crisis management and conducts a qualitative study in Slovak companies with regard to the measures taken during the COVID-19 period. The crisis management actions taken in the companies are described. The crisis management activities during a pandemic are analysed on a company-specific basis. Based on this analysis, the generalizability of the company's measures during a COVID-19 pandemic or a similar pandemic in the future can be assessed. The qualitative analysis is used as a basis to present the measures taken in the companies and their relevance and effectiveness in minimizing the impact of COVID-19 on the selected companies. The aim of the article is to present the concept of crisis management and its application in the company with regard to the measures taken to minimize the impact of the pandemic.
