Abstract
Experimental and numerical results of dynamic analysis of one complex model of tall multi-storey building showed some discrepancies. In order to improve accuracy of numerical model, detailed experimental and numerical dynamical analysis of one typical beam element is performed. Two physical beam
models are manufactured, one with ideally fixed welded supports and one with realistic connection achieved with screws. Numerical modeling is done in Abaqus. Obtained results show that welded model is stiffer and has lower damping, compared to model with screws. Observed beating phenomena is examined in detail and further directions of research are defined accordingly
