Description
Synchrotron light is a powerful probe for the investigation of the structural and physicochemical properties of materials. Among the different Synchrotron-based characterization techniques, Small and Wide Angle X-Ray Scattering (SAXS and WAXS) and Grazing Incidence X-Ray Diffraction (GIXRD) could provide fundamental insights for the development of different Metal Organic Framework (MOF) based materials, from bio-composites , to highly oriented thin films . In this presentation, we will discuss about the research on MOFs we are undertaking at TU Graz and the use of the synchrotron facility to study the MOF particle formation and crystallization. For example, Synchrotron SAXS and WAXS allow to perform time-resolved studies to investigate the nucleation and growth of MOFs on bio-macromolecules (Bio-mimetic mineralization process) or the conversion of inorganic precursors to MOFs.Period | 25 Feb 2019 |
