The main research activities of the Institute of Medical Engineering are related to the development of advanced electronic devices, intelligent instrumentation, modeling and simulation of physiological systems and development of technical aids for handicapped people. Special fields of interest are cardiac telemonitoring including pacemaker technology, hemodialysis, computer assisted therapy management and impedance-based diagnostic tools. The department cooperates within the SFB "Optimization and Control ".
