Project Details

Description

The market of mobile systems is growing rapidly and the number of mobile devices is steadily increasing. An important problem for mobile systems is to determine the energy consumption of all devices during the design phase of the application. Energy is a critical resource and, therefore, early knowledge of the energy requirements is crucial for the development of mobile systems. The main goal of this research area is to find abstract high-level energy consumption models of mobile systems. These models have to describe both hardware and software components of the devices. The challenge is to define and estimate the model parameters which is achieved by special benchmark applications. In near future these new models will allow application engineers to simulate the energy consumption of their application.
