BfS - Long-term atmospheric dispersion models in urban areas for exposure calculations in the vicinity of medical and industrial facilities.

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

As part of this research project, the suitability of ARTM is to be tested by comparing the modeled 3D concentration data for an urban emitter with a complex built environment, either with temporally and spatially high-resolution field measurements or with wind tunnel measurements. Subsequently, the researcher is to organize and evaluate a model comparison with different dispersion models that are successfully used for the dispersion of radioactive or conventional pollutants. Finally, functionalities that are implemented in other dispersion models but have not yet been taken into account in ARTM are to be identified from this comparison. Furthermore, a recommendation is to be derived from the investigations carried out as to which dispersion models could be suitable for reporting in accordance with AVV activities in urban areas.
