Project Details
Description
The identification of unknown organic compounds is accomplished by hyphenation or mere spectrometry. Modern instrumental analytical methodology is used to elucidate the structures and molecular weights of primarily polar and/or higher molecular weight compounds from complex sample mixtures. The application of FTIR-techniques allows to recognize structural elements, the use of combined liquid chromatography - mass spectrometry provides for the potential for a chemical characterization of complex sample mixtures eg. analysis of ionic and non-ionic detergents.
