Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

With a CityCalc easily applicable planning and evaluation tool is developed which can assess the energy performance of urban projects in the early planning phases with low input and evaluation effort. CityCalc allows the evaluation of building organizations on the basis of their environment (adjacent buildings, terrain, etc.). With CityCalc the mutual shading of building structures can be detected - and the use of passive (solar heat gain) and active solar Entries (solar thermal, photovoltaic) are shown. Application areas of CityCalc particular development planning, urban design competitions and inner-city after-compaction. CityCalc can be used one hand to optimize during the planning process and on the other hand, for the energy assessment in the course of urban planning and architectural competitions.
