This research field bases on an understandig of art as discursive category, which must be redefined in a new way permanently. Art refers to norms and values, rules and balances of power of the context in which it is created. It always is source of prestige, produces distinction and reproduces ideological attitudes. This could be researched easily in the public - that means also in the medial - space, where people with different preferences of taste and variable definitions of value are confronted with art. In the centre of attention are the social, political and economical context in which art - especially contemporary art - is produced and consumed, further the irritations, which could be caused - conscious or unconscious - by art.
