Doubly Fed Synchronous Machines

Project: Research area

Project Details

Description

An analytical way to calculate sudden short circuits in a Doubly Fed Synchronous Machine (DFSM) with excitation from a cyclo-converter is described. It is shown how the well known circle diagram for steady state conditions can be employed to predetermine the machine currents in transient conditions. Some typical results of the analytical calculations are reported and discussed.
