Project Details

Description

BIOLOGIK is a project which participates in the „Greenlogistics“ program (http://www.greenlogistics.at) of the ministry of transport, innovation and technology. This program supports R&D focused on ecologically beneficial solutions in transport and logistics. The BIOLOGIK project is hauled by two companies, Innofreight and Papierholz-Austria and our institute, the ISV. Our target is to find solutions for an economically efficient and environmental beneficial transport chain for biomass. This biomass, a fuel which is neutral to global warming, is a joint product of the forest industry and will be used as fuel in paper mills and power plants. The team of the ISV uses dynamic computer simulations, database and GIS tools to optimize the transport chain. Innofreight and Papierholz-Austria contribute their know how in transport and forest-technology.
