Project Details
Description
We develop new algorithms for the reconstruction of models of neurites and blood vessels from microscopy and computed tomography scans. Our goal is to decrease the time a medical researcher needs to spend to construct a model of the network of blood vessels in the lung, visible in a thoracic CT scan, and to cut the workload that a neuroscientist needs to invest to construct a model of a mouse neuron from a light microscopy scan of mouse brain. These workloads are currently very high and block progress in basic research on diseases involving vascular degeneration and on the structure of the brain.
