KIN3D - 3D kinetic plasma transport under reactor conditions

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The aim of this project is to develop a model capable of calculating self-consistent steady-state plasma parameter distributions and electrostatic potential distributions in 3D magnetic field geometries in order to apply the knowledge gained in this way to the development of fusion power plants, in particular in connection with the transport of impurities and the heat load at the plasma edge; this is expected to improve the predictive power of simulations and make an essential contribution to the development of stellarator power plants.
