Novel Biocatalytic Reactions

The intention of this project is threefold. First biocatalytic equivalents to reactions which are familiar in organic chemistry but without or nearly without realisation in biocatalysis will be investigated. Second, within this project the possibility will be provided to pursue on an exploratory basis new and unprecedented ideas for biocatalytic transformations. In case of positive results such ideas could be further developed to become a preparative reaction with relevance to industrial application. Third, a module for finding novel activities in microorganisms with respect to biocatalytic synthesis will be part of this project. The modules are tied together to achieve optimal realisation.
