The project aims at the development of a novel heat exchanger concept for biomass combustion plants in the capacity range up to 300 kW (small-scale combustion plants). Therefore, a biomass furnace should be combined with a new low-dust-condenser technology that replaces the conventional 2-path fire-tube boiler. For further heat recovery optionally an air preheater is foreseen. The new technology will be designed for a wide range of biomass fuels (pellets, wood chips, short-rotation wood; moisture content 8 to 50 wt% w.b.).
