Project Details

Description

The Chemo- and Biosensor group is dedicated to the development of new sensor technology for applications in biological and medical sciences. Currently nine researchers are employed. The group has broad experience in optical sensing techniques, especially those based on luminescence and photometric methods. It is focused on the development of new sensing schemes and spectroscopic methods for biosensing, including the synthesis of tailor-made indicators, receptors and polymeric sensor materials. A major initiative is to establish new application areas for the sensors developed at the Institute, particularly in medical diagnostics, biotechnology and environmental analyses. The group is presently involved in a number of industrially relevant projects.
